Harris County is a unique, charming, almost magical place to visit and live. Only a few minutes from bustling cities, one can get lost on the back roads and relive memories of yesteryear while staying connected to the present. It's a growing place but the county's leaders are working hard to preserve the quality of life enjoyed by our 30,000 residents. Visitors love our picturesque scenery, no matter the season. Retirees find well planned, beautifully landscaped subdivisions and communities where they can enjoy each other's company as they benefit from a somewhat slower lifestyle after many hectic years in the fast lane. And young families love rearing their children in a rural atmosphere where neighborhood schools are the hubs of activity and the wide open spaces are their playgrounds.
